Commanders, Charlie Company

Company Officers Are Highly Qualified

I have been reading through the US Marine Corps Officer Candidate Course website <http://www.trngcmd.usmc.mil/OCS/default.aspx>. After learning that Caleb is in Charlie Company, I found additional useful information. On the Student Companies page I found Company C listed and clicked on the link under Lists on the left side of the page. This yielded the following information about the company officers.

Majore Koeck rose up throughou the ranks of enlisted men. His first assignment was as a Military Policeman. He then trained as a Logistics Officer, which led to service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He later deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. This will be his second cycle as a training officer.

Company First Sergeant is First Sergeant Larry Liechty. His assignments have also been in Logistics, specifically Transport and Embarkation. He is an experienced Drill Sergeant and Martial Arts Instructor. He deployed in both Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and in special assignments in Afghanistan. Among other decorations, he has received the Bronze Star.

Caleb will be training under highly qualified officers. Full details are given below, verbatim, from the website.

  2. I served under 1stSgt. Liechty as a boot PFC in Okinawa when he was a Staff Sergeant. A true Jarhead, man, and an all around leader of Marines. I'm proud to be able to refer to him as a former mentor. This country's lucky to have him!
